5.8.2 Separation minima based on wake turbulence category shall be applied when an aircraft is being radar vectored to intercept the ILS localizer course or the MLS final approach track.
5.8.3 The following distance-based wake turbulence separation minima shall be applied to aircraft being provided with an ATS surveillance service in the approach and departure phases of flight:

a) HEAVY aircraft behind SUPER aircraft — 6.0 NM;
b) LIGHT aircraft behind SUPER aircraft — 8.0 NM;
c) MEDIUM aircraft behind HEAVY aircraft — 5.0 NM;
d) LIGHT aircraft behind HEAVY aircraft — 6.0 NM;
e) LIGHT aircraft behind MEDIUM aircraft — 5.0 NM.
5.8.4 The separation minima in 5.8.3 shall not be applied to arriving aircraft if the aircraft is cleared to execute a visual approach.
5.8.5 When aircraft are provided with an ATS surveillance service in the en-route phase of flight, the separation minima specified in 5.8.3 may be applied subject to regional air navigation agreement.
